Our 2026 grant cycle is set! The next application cycle is planned for July 15th - October 10th 2026.
We are excited to announce that the Maine Lighthouse Trust grant application window is approaching! We have made additional eligibility changes to support larger projects. Read on to see what’s new!
2026 Eligibility Changes
Maximum Grant request has been increased from $25,000 to $50,000
Timeline for usage of grant funds has been extended from 12 months to 24 months
Calling All Applicants
If you have a project in mind that aligns with our mission, we eagerly invite you to apply for a grant during the open application window. We encourage a diverse range of proposals, including but not limited to:
Preservation and Restoration efforts on Maine lighthouse buildings and structures.
Development of educational programs and materials to raise awareness about Maine lighthouses' historical significance.
Implementation of initiatives to enhance public access to lighthouses while ensuring their protection.
Collaborative partnerships that promote the exploration and appreciation of Maine's lighthouse heritage.
Application Procedure
To apply for a Maine Lighthouse Trust grant, please click on the grant application button below where you will find detailed guidelines and instructions on how to complete the online application form. The ability to apply will only become available on July 15, 2026. Carefully review the application requirements before submitting your proposal to ensure its eligibility.
Deadline and Evaluation Process
Our 2026 grant applications will open on July 15, 2026 and will remain open through October 10, 2026. After receiving all submissions, our executive board will review and assess the proposals based on their feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with the trust's mission. Grant recipients will be notified of the award(s) on or before November 15th, 2026.
